Minneapolis-Based PC Solutions Acquires LBC Technology of Des Moines, IA
Minneapolis, Minn., May 2, 2011—Minneapolis-based PC Solutions, Inc, (PCS) today announced the acquisition of LBC Technology, LLC, central Iowa's leading technology partner for small and mid-sized businesses.
For PCS, the acquisition increases the depth of their talent pool. “At the heart of any services company are its people,” says Mark Berndt, President and CEO of PC Solutions. “For over a year, we conducted an extensive search for a company in a new geographic market whose people matched our culture perfectly. In early talks with LBC, it was apparent that the IT professionals at LBC were just as committed to the long-term business success of their clients as we, at PCS, have been throughout our nearly 40 years in the IT services business.”
The combined organization gains more than just access to the Des Moines/central Iowa market. The acquisition of LBC also provides economies of scale, so that existing services can be delivered more efficiently. Additionally, the combined organization will benefit from an increased level of R&D investment, so that new products and improved Managed IT Services can be offered to businesses in both the Des Moines and Twin Cities markets.
PCS -- already a leader in Managed IT Services -- will now deliver a higher level of expertise in Virtualization and Storage Area Networks, as well as offer document management and document imaging technologies.

As part of the acquisition, PCS has assumed a long-term lease of space within a Tier 3 Data Center in Des Moines that will provide its clients unparalleled business continuity, disaster recovery, and offsite data replication capabilities.
“It’s very unique in the small to mid-sized market to have an IT partner who can offer access to such a sophisticated facility at an affordable rate,” says Berndt. “If a client’s company burns to the ground or suffers overwhelming flood damage, we now have the ability to get them back online. Services include anything as simple as data recovery to providing fully-functioning hot seats so that their key employees can go to Des Moines and continue working until their entire office can be recovered or relocated.”
